Good for Nothing will be released tomorrow, May 22, 2025

The makers of Sitaare Zameen Par are kicking off the weekend early. The film’s first single, Good for Nothing, will be released tomorrow, May 22, 2025.

On Wednesday, the makers dropped the song’s teaser on Instagram. The video features Aamir Khan, as a basketball coach, training a team of individuals with special needs. 

The upbeat track is sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Amitabh Bhattacharya, with music composed by the celebrated trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

The song seems to offer a playful twist on Aamir Khan’s track Papa Kehte Hain from his 1988 film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. 

The teaser hints at this connection with the caption, “Papa kehte hain ‘Good For Nothing’ banega tumhara jam. Song releasing tomorrow! #SitaareZameenPar #SabkaApnaApnaNormal, 20th June Only In Theatres.” 

Last week, the makers released the much-awaited trailer for Sitaare Zameen Par. It offers glimpses of Aamir Khan’s character grappling with his troubled personal choices. He is punished by the court for rash driving and ends up coaching basketball to a group of specially-abled individuals while navigating his inner conflicts.

Genelia D’Souza plays his love interest, and Darsheel Safary also appears in a supporting role.

Sitaare Zameen Par introduces 10 debutants, including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra and Simran Mangeshkar.

The film is the sequel to the 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par. Directed by R S Prasanna, the project is bankrolled by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions.

Virat Kohli treated his fans to some happy pictures where he’s seen playing a pickleball match with Anushka Sharma. The pictures were shared by the official Instagram handle of Royal Challengers Bengaluru. After a schedule practice match was called off due to rain, Virat-Anushka engaged in a fun-filled match with other RCB players in the city.

In the pictures, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are seen laughing and exchanging a high-five. They were joined by Dinesh Karthik, who paired up with his wife, squash champion Dipika Pallikal. 

Players like Phil Salt, Romario Shepherd, Suyash Prabhudessai, and others took part in the friendly match, which became a hit on social media.

Virat Kohli disappointed millions of his fans across the globe after he announced his retirement from the Test cricket on May 12.

Kartik Aaryan’s latest Instagram post is a treat for fans. In just a single, cleverly crafted black-and-white video, the actor managed to tease three of his upcoming films – Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, NaagZilla, and the much-awaited third instalment of the Aashiqui franchise.

In the clip, we see Kartik walking away from the camera. He is pulling a luggage stacked with a guitar – a possible nod to the third part of Aashiqui.

What truly catches the eye is the giant NaagZilla logo on the back of his hoodie. 

The background audio is the same one used in the Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri announcement video.

It was Kartik’s cheeky caption that tied it all together, “NaagZilla ka hoodie pehen ke Aashiqui vaala guitar leke Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri shoot karne main chala ray. [Wearing the NaagZilla hoodie, carrying the Aashiqui guitar, off I go to shoot Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri.]”

Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri marks a much-anticipated reunion between Kartik Aaryan and director Sameer Vidwans. The duo previously collaborated on the 2023 romantic comedy Satyaprem Ki Katha.

This upcoming romantic comedy is backed by a powerhouse production team – Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Bhumika Tewari, Shareen Mantri Kedia, and Kishor Arora – under the banners of Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures.

The movie will be released on Valentine’s Day eve next year.

2. NaagZilla

In NaagZilla, Kartik Aaryan will be playing the role of a shape-shifting serpent. The film is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba.

NaagZilla is produced by Dharma Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 14, 2026.

In April, Karan Johar unveiled a motion poster for the film. 

3. The third instalment of Aashiqui (untitled project)

The yet-to-be-titled Anurag Basu film will mark the Bollywood debut of Telugu star Sreeleela. The project has already stirred excitement among fans, especially after pictures and videos from the sets went viral online. Kartik and Sreeleela shot in North Bengal, in and around the picturesque tea gardens.

Earlier this year, The Hollywood Reporter had learnt that there might be delays in the release of Love & War which was initially scheduled for a March 2026 release. However, the speculations were later denied. Further updates are awaited.

Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan will be reuniting for the second time after Nayakan

The buzz around Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life is getting stronger with the release date nearing. The film is set to hit the screens on June 5, 2025.

The latest conversation that has taken flight is around the age disparity between Trisha Krishnan and Kamal Haasan in the film, and them romancing despite a 30-year age gap.

Trisha was present at the pre-release event of the film in Mumbai recently. The actress had a befitting reply to the criticism coming her way for the onscreen romance with Kamal Haasan, and the conversations surrounding the age difference.

Trisha responded by saying that she was prepared for the backlash, yet she also believed that the online pairing with Kamal Haasan would be magical.

Trisha said, “I think that’s something I knew when they announced the film and I had not even signed it. So that’s when I knew, wow, this is magic. And I was not even part of the film at that point in time.”

Speaking of the incredible experience of witnessing Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam come together and work, Trisha added, “So all of us as actors, we were like, oh damn, we have to do some work here. We’ve got to stop staring at them. So it was magic.”

Trisha Krishnan has also been combatting negative feedback for her song Sugar Baby in Thug Life. Internet users were not pleased to see an actress in her 40s dance to a song with an inappropriate title. There were also opinions regarding an item song for the first time in a Mani Ratnam production.

War 2 is one of the most anticipated films from YRF’s spy verse this year

War 2 is one of the most anticipated films from YRF’s spy verse this year. Led by Hrithik Roshan, JR NTR, and Kiara Advani, the teaser that released yesterday has upped the excitement and expectations of the audience to newer levels.

Many industry friends reacted to the teaser, showering praises and sending love. Neetu Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, Mouni Roy, Hrithik Roshan’s girlfriend, actress Saba Azad, and ex-wife Sussanne Khan dropped comments on how spectacular the teaser looks.

Alia Bhatt, who shares a very strong bond with Ayan Mukerji, also took to Instagram to send in her encouragement.

Alia wrote, “Seated for the (fire emojis). A special pre-birthday for real Ayan Mukerji”, and tagged Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani in the post.

He first re-shared the teaser on his Instagram stories, and wrote, “And here comes the biggest BLOCKBUSTER of the year!!!!! This clash of the Titans is going to be EPIC and storm the BOX OFFICE!!!! I literally CANNOT WAIT!”

Karan then shared a shot of Kiara Advani’s viral bikini shot from the teaser, and wrote, “Can we take a moment to say how HOT @kiaraaliaadvani is looking in War 2!!!!”

The audience had a mixed reaction to the teaser, while some were mighty impressed with the film’s visual effect, others were of the opinion that Jr NTR looked a bit misplaced as the antagonist opposite Hrithik Roshan.
